Coral Triangle Day Celebration

The Government Science College, Veraval, celebrated Coral Triangle Day on June 9, 2024, with an online quiz competition by Climate Change Coordinator Ms. Priya Mange and Eco Club Coordinator Mr. Jaydeep Zala. This event aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of marine biodiversity, particularly in the Coral Triangle region. The online format was chosen due to the ongoing summer vacation, ensuring active participation without geographical constraints. The objectives of quiz are To educate students about the significance of the Coral Triangle, one of the most diverse marine regions on the planet, To engage students in an interactive and educational activity during their summer break, To promote environmental awareness and conservation efforts among the youth. The celebration was marked by an online quiz competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines. The quiz focused on topics such as marine biodiversity, conservation efforts, and specific details about the Coral Triangle region. Over 28 students registered for the quiz. The quiz comprised 50 multiple-choice questions. Topics included marine ecosystems, species diversity in the Coral Triangle, threats to coral reefs, and global conservation efforts. The quiz was conducted on the platform of Google Forms, ensuring smooth access for all participants. Technical support was provided to assist students with any connectivity issues.
