Expert Lecture: "Contribution of Indian Science and Scientists at the International Level"

On 12th August 2024, Government Science College, Veraval, in collaboration with Vigyan Gurjari, organized an expert lecture titled "Contribution of Indian Science and Scientists at the International Level" at Yog Bhavan, Shree Somnath Sanskrit University. The event, which was part of the "Student Innovation Fest 2024," was graced by distinguished guests, including Shree Vivashvanji (Sangathan Mantri of Vigyan Bharti for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa), Dr. Sukanta Kumar Senapati (Vice-Chancellor of Somnath Sanskrit University), Zaveri Bhai Thakkar (City President BJP), Mahendra Bhai Pithiya (District President BJP), Mr. Pradip Joshi (Co-convener of Vigyan Gurjari), Dr. Jivabhai Vala (Mahila College, Veraval), and Mr. Kunj Dhanesha (Principal, J.M. Science College). The event, attended by more than 250 students, began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a compelling and insightful introductory speech by Dr. Smita B. Chhag. The speech emphasized the pivotal role of Indian scientists in the global scientific community and set the tone for the day's proceedings.Dr. Sukanta Kumar Senapati then delivered a detailed talk on the contributions of ancient Indian scientists, offering a historical perspective on India's rich scientific heritage. His address was both educational and inspiring, resonating deeply with the audience.The highlight of the event was the speech by Shree Vivashvanji, who provided an in-depth look at India’s achievements in science and medicine, underscoring the nation’s significant contributions to global advancements. The expert lecture was further enriched by Mr. Pradip Joshi, who delivered a focused talk on the contributions of Indian scientists, with special emphasis on the pioneering work of J.C. Bose. His presentation was a fitting tribute to one of India’s most revered scientists, inspiring students to explore the vast potential of scientific inquiry. The event was coordinated by Mr. S.M. Sitapara, with valuable support from Dr. S.G. Chovatiya and Mr. J.B. Zala. The proceedings were expertly anchored by Miss K.A. Barad, whose professionalism and poise kept the audience engaged throughout the event. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. M.L. Parmar, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests, organizers, and attendees. The lecture was a resounding success, not only celebrating the contributions of Indian scientists but also encouraging students to pursue their own scientific endeavors, guided by the wisdom shared during this memorable event.
