Government Science College Veraval (Gir-Somnath) celebrated second week of January 2025 as Sports Week, Science Carnival and Annual Function from 6th January to 10th January 2025. Under Sports Band of Saptadhara, Discuss Throw competition was held on 7h January 2025. The rules for Discuss Throw were explained by the coordinator and students were provided necessary equipment for the competition. The duration of this competition was about one and half hours. Dr. D. K. Pandya coordinated this event for the students under the supervision and guidance of principal of the college, Dr. Smita Chhag Madam. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college supported a lot to make this competition successful. Fifteen boys and eighteen girls participated in this competition. They performed three trials to throw the disc on ground. The highest distance travelled by the disc out of three trials was considered as the final score.
